Our visit to the T-Mobile Team training camp
Training Peaks had the great pleasure to attend the first T-Mobile Team meetings in Lugano, Switzerland October 13-15th. The T-Mobile professional cycling team will be using TrainingPeaks.com and our desktop analysis software, Cycling Peaks WKO+, to manage all 30 riders' training and race data. Combined with SRM power meters which seamlessly integrate with WKO+, makes for a powerful and useful combination to better manage rider data and training. The use of Training Peaks products is also a part of T-Mobile’s anti-doping program, which will also include mandatory random testing in addition to the normal in, and out-of-competition testing.
Gear working with riders and doctors at the T-Mobile camp
During the three-days of meeting in Lugano team riders were introduced to Training Peaks, which will serve as the general training database of the team. "The riders send their files, and the members of the training staff or the directors can look at what they are actually doing. It’s all on one database. We know where they are at their training and whether they are sticking to their plan," T-Mobile Team manager Bob Stapleton explained.
Attending the meetings in Lugano for Training Peaks were Training Peaks CTO Gear Fisher, and Training Peaks Director of Business Development Dirk Friel. Fisher and Friel were able to train T-Mobile Team doctors and coaches on how to monitor, analyze and plan rider training and race data through the two products—TrainingPeaks.com and Cycling Peaks WKO+. In addition Fisher and Friel also meet individually with each rider and explained how they can direct download SRM power-meter data into Cycling Peaks WKO+ and synchronize their files up to the central T-Mobile Training Peaks account so team management, doctors and coaches can access the data 24hrs a day from any computer world wide.
Good luck to T-Mobile Team in 2007 and look for more team training and race reports to come.

“This is a historic partnership when it comes to managing training and race data at the highest levels cycling performance,” explained Training Peaks’ Dirk Friel. “T-Mobile is a Formula One team on wheels, and just like with Formula One cars T-Mobile can now accurately track the output of every rider’s engine.” |

Subscription Questions |
 |
|
What's the difference between the "free" Log-Only version and a Full Subscription?
There are very specific differences between our “free” log-only version of our on-line training log versus the premium paid subscription. With the paid subscription you get full access to all the features in our Self-Coached subscription. This is considered the Premium version which allows you full access to all our training and nutrition features. Training Peaks Log-Only version provides easy to use logging features for recording your workouts. In log-only it is essentially just that – a place to log what you are doing. The monitoring, analyzing and planning features are reserved for the paid subscription customers. But the great thing about using the log-only version when you aren’t in a paid subscription mode with us, is that your data is stored and saved for you. If at a later time you decide to sign up again, or access one of the coaches in our network, your training data will be ready and waiting for you.
